The problems to be completed and turned in are listed in the following table. Each assignment will cover multiple sections in the book. For example, the first assignment covers three sections in the textbook. In most cases, the problems in a single assignment cover problem over related concepts. Also, problems with an asterisk following the problem number indicate that the problem is an application problem.
Completed Homework Policies:
Before turning in homeworks please make sure you read through the following list of homework policies to make sure that you understand how homework should be completed and the appropriate format to get full credit for your work.
The homework assignment links on this page will allow you to download a worksheet for each lesson containing all of the problems. All of the links associated with a single lesson are the same. For example, if you click on the link for Section 1.5 or Section 1.6 will get you to the same worksheet with all of the problems to be completed for Lesson 1. Problems are listed to help students find the individual problems in the textbook. In addition to the problems for a lesson, the pdf file includes a form to fill out with your name, A-number, and mailing address. It is important to include your name and A-number to get full credit for your work. Also, the address you include on the assignment is the return address that will be used to get the graded homework paper back to you. Please note that the turn around time for graded homework may be as long as two weeks. Once homework has been received, it may take up to 10 working days to grade the assignments and then turn them in to the Distance Education Office. All assignments will be sent back to the return address on the assignment.
All homework lesson/assignments you turn in must adhere to the following policies.
Homework not meeting these basic requirements will be sent back to the student without being graded.

In certain cases, example problems are included from the textbook that are similar to the problems to be turned in by the student. As time goes on more examples will be included. These problems will be worked in detail and students will be expected to show this kind of detail on assignments turned in for grading. Students should be neat and thorough in their problem solutions. Students must keep in mind that the instructor for the course is trying to assess the concepts learned based on the explanations in the homework. If the explanations are hard to read or not complete credit will be lost.
